Our Projects

In 2009, the investment made under our Sustainability that Matters programs, was over 1 million dollars per day. According with the Foundation Center, in 2009 only a handful of NGOs led by the Billy Melinda Gates Foundation, Ford Foundation and Hewlett Foundation exceed the investments made by the Colombia's Coffee Growers Federation. These facts have positioned our organization as one of the most, if not the most important rural NGO's in the developing world.

The design and execution of these projects are based on our strategic plan 2008-2012, which undertakes eight promises of added value services for Colombian coffee growers. Our sustainability and development projects on rural coffee zones in the next few years will have emphasis on initiatives directed to the improvement of coffee farmscoffee growing communities, as well as those focused on the environmental preservation. The last pillar of our activities aims to develop projects that will transfer more electronic services and knowledge to the coffee growers through rural connectivity programs.

We implement our programs on the coffee farms in order to make them more profitable and productive through greater competiveness and innovation. We have also committed ourselves to the development of  rural coffee communities, focusing on education, well-being, female participation and regional development.

Our research programs associated with the environment seek to develop knowledge and projects that help to mitigate climate change and protect our biodiversity. We also believe that a basic instrument to improve the coffee growing family´s quality of life in rural areas is to integrate our rural communities and their families with the world through of advanced communication technologies with our connectivity programs.
