Colombian Coffee Production Rises 9% in August

• Colombian coffee exports increased 8% during the last 12 months by reaching 13.34 million 60-kg bags.


Bogota, September 4, 2017 (FNC Press Office) – Colombia, the world’s leading producer of mild washed Arabica coffee, produced 1.29 million 60-kg bags in August, a 9% increase compared to the 1.19 million bags produced in August 2016.

Year-to-date production (January-August) increased 2% by reaching over 9 million bags. Similarly, during the last 12 months (September 2016-August 2017), coffee production increased 3% by reaching 14.4 million 60-kg bags.

So far this coffee year (October 2016-August 2017), Colombian coffee production has registered 13.4 million 60-kg bags, a 3% increase compared to the almost 13 million bags produced between October 2015 and August 2016.

Year-to-Date Exports Rise 6%

Colombian coffee exports decreased 8% in August by dropping from 1.27 million 60-kg bags in 2016 to 1.17 million bags in 2017.

Year-to-date exports (January-August) registered a 6% increase by reaching over 8.3 million bags. Similarly, during the last 12 months (September 2016- August 2017) Colombian coffee exports reached 13.35 million 60-kg bags, an 8% increase compared to the 12.39 million bags between September 2015 and August 2016.

So far this coffee year (October 2016-August 2017), coffee exports grew 9% by reaching over 12.3 million 60-kg bags.
