In order to develop projects regarding educational infrastructure and educational equipment provision, in August 2009 the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC) and the Ministry of National Education (MNE) signed the 780/2009 cooperation agreement. The FNC, the MNE, and departments and/or municipalities will be involved in the development of the projects.

Since 2010, 87 educational institutions worth US$ 44.87 million have begun to be constructed in the departments of Boyacá, Caldas, Cauca, Caquetá, Cesar, Chocó, Huila, Quindío, Risaralda, and Tolima; and in the municipalities of Tuluá, Ibagué and Pereira.

• In August 2011 53 educational equipment provision projects worth US$ 19 million were completed in Armenia, Boyacá, Caldas, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Huila, Pereira, Tolima, and Tuluá, reaching an execution percentage of 58%. 
• In November 2011 67 educational equipment provision projects worth US$ 34.9 were completed in Armenia, Boyacá, Caldas, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Huila, Pereira, Tolima, Caquetá and Tuluá, reaching an execution percentage of 79%.
• By the end of December 2011 70 new educational institutions worth US$ 38.14 were completed in the entire country, meaning that the implementation percentage reached 85%.
