41 municipalities of the department of Valle del Cauca will be assisted

Rural housing affected by La Niña phenomenon will be repaired by FNC in Valle del Cauca

  •  Over $COP 11.416 million (US$ xxx) will be invested in the restoration process.
  •  Funding will be provided by Colombia Humanitaria.

Cali, September, 28, 2011 – 4.499 rural houses struck by La Niña phenomenon in the department of Valle del Cauca will be repaired thanks to an agreement signed between the Coffee Growers Committee of Valle del Cauca and the department´s local Government. The execution of the agreement will be the responsibility of the Coffee Growers Committee of Valle del Cauca thanks to its experience of performing projects in the rural sector. The total investment provided by Colombia Humanitaria exceeds 11.416 million Colombian pesos and will be co-financed by the department´s Coffee Growers Committee.

According to Héctor F. Cuéllar, Director of Valle´s Coffee Growers Committee, the mending process will count with the intervention of Universidad del Valle and will be supervised by Valle del Cauca´s Secretary of Housing and the department´s community. “It will address rural households in 41 municipalities of Valle del Cauca, improving the living conditions of many families”, he said.
