Participative investigation

This strategy provides an opportunity for interaction between coffee growers, extensionists and researchers in order to validate, , transfer technologies, adapt and generate knowledge according to the socioeconomic conditions, the culture, and environment of coffee growers and their farms.

One of the specific objectives of the PR (Investigación Participativa, IPA, for its name in Spanish), within the FNC is the validation of new technologies within their coffee farms.

These investigations have been oriented towards the validation of:

  • New coffee varieties such as Castillo ®.
  • Hybrid materials of corn investigated by Cimmyt and Fenalce.
  • Coffee harvesting tools such as the kangaroo, the Raselca, the individual harvesting nets and the portable Alfa and Imfra teams.
  • The control methods for drying coffee
