The FNC certifies Japanese executives in mild coffee quality control

Representatives from trading and roasting Japanese companies participated in the FNC´s 8th International Mild Coffee Quality Training Course. In their visit to Colombia the Japanese executives visited the department of Quindio, where they exchanged experiences with growers and producers and got to know the productive process of Colombian coffee: harvesting, post harvest (beneficio), roasting, and sensory analysis.

In one of the course´s activities the 17 participants had the opportunity to plant a coffee tree in the Coffee Growers Committee of Quindio´s training center, El Agrado. They described their experience as an amazing opportunity to understand not only the process and origin of the drink they consume daily, but also the difficulty of producing a good quality coffee.

According to Edgar Moreno, FNC´s Management Advisor in matters regarding coffee quality, “the course intends to show everything there is to know about Colombian coffee institutions and coffee production, and in the mean time, encourage participants to continue appreciating Colombian coffee and its coffee culture.”
